Christmas Cards

You would think the last thing I wanted to do this year was to make Christmas cards but as I said stamping is therapeutic for me.    The more life is out of control, the more likely you will find me doing mass production of cards to keep my hands busy and creating cards that make me smile.   I ended up with four designs I absolutely loved.    There was a little fussy cutting but overall there wasn't that many steps to each card.    Except for maybe the gingerbread house.

The first card was super easy.    I fussy cut the candy canes from the Sweet Christmas DSP.    The holly was the Peace & Joy stamp set.    The sentiment was stamped in Real Red and Shaded Spruce from the Jingle Jingle Jingle stamp set.   The only finishing touch was the strip of card stock at the bottom.

This was one of my favorites.   I was able to use up the polar bears I fussy cut from the Penguin Playmates DSP from last year.    How cute is he paired up with the trees from the Trees for Sale stamp set.    The Tis the Season sentiment was perfect from craft stash.   Such a simple card and no embellishments needed except for a strip of card stock at the bottom.

I think the hardest part of the gingerbread card was stamping all the extricate details of the house.    The images were done in Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia.    The strip of DSP comes from Dandy Designs.   The sentiment comes from the Jingle Jingle Jingle set.    Strips of card stock and enamel dots from my craft collection complete the card.

So this was my second favorite Christmas card that I made this year.    I saw this amazing sentiment from the Unity company and wanted a way to incorporate into my cards this year.   You know we all shopped on Amazon for our gifts.   There was no way I was going to be able to Christmas if it wasn't for Amazon last year.   I had no time to shop.   I was home with my dad most days.    I didn't want to disappoint the kids so I shopped my heart out on Amazon.      The images came from the amazing Spruced Up set.    The holly from Peace & Joy set.    I sponged on some Spun Sugar Distress Oxide for the background.    I think the thing I was most proud of this year's cards was the fact I was able to use very little embellishments and they were all wow cards.  Thank you letting me share my last year's cards for a Christmas in July post.
