Spring Challenge

So I am so excited, I actually found time to do a Stampin' Royalty challenge and I got to scrapbook.   Can't get better than that!    I am so grateful, my fellow goddesses at the Stampin' Royalty site are so accommodating and have kept me as a design team member even though I haven't had the time to stamp.   I am hoping things change in the next couple of months and I find at least time to do some of their challenges.

So the challenge is Spring.  I hope you can join us, so easy and it makes me so happy to think of bright and cheerful flowers, baby chicks instead of SNOW!!    What is with snow in March and not only that but we were in the home stretch without having a major storm and now we get over 18 inches!   Yikes.   Mother Nature this is not funny.    

Here is my scrapbook page of last year's Easter egg hunt.     Some of the fun products used on this page is the Happy Celebrations stamp set and the retired Honeycomb Happiness.    The eggs were traced and cut out with a pattern.    Easter was die cut with Little Letters.    The fun paper is Festive Birthday, just perfect for Egg Hunt photos with all the bright fun colors.

Retro Sketch

This week's Unity challenge is a tag challenge.    I wanted to make a few tags for my nieces and nephews to put on their back to school gift cards.    Thanks to Unity I have a quite a few great school sets and I was happy I was able to use them on this tag elements.

Since I made 4 tags, I figured why not make two more and put them on a card and a scrapbook page.  

I can't tell you how happy I was to have an occasion to make a scrapbook page!    Here are my niece and nephew from a few years back heading back to school.   They actually start on Monday, so I can't wait to see their 1st day of school photos on Monday.

Here is one of my favorite stamp sets from The Project Bin, #bff.   I decided to make a scrapbook page featuring my #bff from high schools.   We have been there for each other through thick and thin.    To start off my birthday weekend, here is a picture of us on my 30th birthday.

I used two of the sentiments from the set,  #bff and A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.    They worked perfectly on my page.    Some heat embossing, some stickers, a few strips of paper and the page came together.

You Can Make Me Laugh

Paper Craft Crew gave us an amazing sketch that I decided to turn to scrapbook page.    Love the #bff stamp set from The Project Bin there are so many great friend sentiments. One of my favorites from the stamp set is you can make me laugh when the last thing I want do is smile.     It makes me think of my niece and nephew they always make me laugh out loud and put a smile on my face.  
I ended up adding a lot more a layers to the sketch, but the end result makes me smile and I am so happy to have this great page of two little cutie-pies.

Did Someone Say Sailing

I love the Reverse Confetti sketch of the month.    The circles and tabs totally inspired me to create this nautical theme page with some of the amazing nautical stamp sets that I have recently have gotten.

Being we are not really a sailing family, you will not see a lot of boating pictures, but I was really happy to find this great picture in my photo stash of my niece and nephew on a row boat!!

So it is not really sailing, but it is on the water!

When I saw the Paper Players color challenge, I knew a scrapbook page was in my future.   Love the Cherry Cobbler and Dapper Denim  together.    Perfect colors for a patriotic project.    I decided to use this week's Mojo Monday sketch of the week for inspiration.   I added a few touches and I have to say I love my page.

LBI

I have so many amazing beach photos.   I am the ultimate beach bum.   Long Beach Island is one of my favorite summer getaways. It has been fun to fit a few scrapbook pages in the midst of my card making.  It's always summer somewhere sentiment from the Summer Fun stamp set from The Project Bin was a perfect fit for my beach photo collage.

Love Summer Fun

I can't tell you how happy I am that The Project Bin has come out with a Summer Fun stamp set.   It has completely inspired me to scrapbook.   I am the ultimate beach girl.  So it is no surprise that I have a collection of scrapbook paper and accents just waiting to be used for scrapbooking my memories.  I just haven't made the time to scrapbook lately.   There is always something that needs to be done that takes priority.

Thank you The Project Bin for giving me an opportunity to pull out my beach photos and get scrappin'.

First I create a card with the great sentiment Life is better in flip flops.    Isn't it?    Just slip flip flops on you are on your way.     Love the bright color scheme.    It just makes me smile.   Thank you As You See It for the sketch challenge and thank you for moving to a two week sketch challenge.   That makes me so happy!!!     I have a feeling that you may see this card end up being a project life card and end up on scrapbook page in the future!

The second project I created with the Summer Fun stamp set from the Project Bin is the Girls just want have sun page.   I decided to dedicate to my best friend's daughter.    She is graduating this year.   I can't believe this amazing girl is now a young lady who is now going to be moving on and experiencing new adventures on her own now.   I can still remember taking her and her brothers to the beach.  Each bringing their little sand buckets to the beach.   I loved my LBI beach summers with these kids and now it makes me a little sad to know that they are coming to an end.   Love you Gianna!    

The Summer Fun collection is a perfect way start the Memorial Day weekend.    Hope the weather holds out and everyone can find some time to get to the water or at the least slip on their flip flops!   Happy Memorial Day!

You Mean the World to Me!

So happy to be scrapbooking again.   Mother's Day and Father's Day cards are done so I finally have some time to create just for me.      As soon as I saw this week's Freshly Made Sketch I immediately thought of a scrapbook page I could create.

Here are my beautiful two nieces.   Love these girls.   One of my more successful selfies taken with my phone.  Most of the products are not SU  in this project except the ink and card stock.      Hope this inpsires you to create and have fun with all the products in your craft stash.

Vitamin Sea

I just want to say thank you to The Project Bin.   I absolutely love the Summer Fun stamp set.   It totally inspired me to scrapbook!!!  It's been a while since I scrapbooked and I forgot how much I enjoy it.  

Here are pictures of my beach family.    My best friend and her amazing kids.   The kids were so little in these pictures!  

I started with making a card with the Vitamin Sea sentiment and ended up with a homemade Project Life card.    How great is the sentiment We all need a little Vitamin Sea.    I have to say this is probably the most photos I have put on a page in a long time.

Freshly Made Sketch

So how cute is this pineapple guy!   When I created my scrapbook page a few months ago, I ended up coloring a second one and this guy has been sitting on my craft table just staring at me.    Then I thought of Father's Day and thought he would be perfect for a dad's day card!

Love the Woodgrain Neutral challenge this week at Fusion.    The best part of the challenge I was able to incorporate the color scheme into creating a long overdue scrapbook page with me and my best friends.    Best friends certainly think alike, we were at a scrapbook crop and all three of us wore the same shirt and we didn't even plan it!!

The best part of the page was I was able to use 6x6 paper packs that I purchased for the layout.

Fun day of Crafting

I had a fun day of crafting and creating yesterday and wanted to share some of my projects.    It was fun to create projects with products that I normally do not work with.

The best part of my creative day was my renewed desire to making time to scrapbook as one of my goals for 2015.    I have been so focused in creating cards so I will have an inventory to sell at the coffee shop that I forget how much fun it is to create 3-D items for home decor as well.

My first project is my heart wall hanging.     With my circle and heart framelits, I was able to create a beautiful wall hanging to put on my wall for Valentine's Day!    Want to get a sneak peak in how the whole thing stays together and hangs, scroll down and see my photo below.     The placed the hearts temporarily in the arrangement I wanted to have them display and then with a pencil I outlined them on a piece of cardboard.   I used the hard card board that comes in the designer series paper pack.    I then cut out the outline and reattached the circles.    Now my hearts are attached to a piece of cardboard and will not come apart.    I used photo brackets to hang the ribbon.    The bows I attached with a hot glue gun.    The hearts in the center I used sticky strip.    Behind the bows, I used pin/jewelry holders.      

Next came scrapbook pages with my niece and nephew.     For my niece's page, I layered tags I diecut and added some stickers and enamel dots to complete her page.

My nephew's scrapbook page, I used different size stars and some stamped ink splatters to make a fun page.     The title was stamped with my alphabet stamps.

I love the simplicity of my love card.   I was actually inspired by a sweater design I saw.    How super easy is this card.    The hardest part was making sure the heart lined up when I die cut it!

My Hello Sunshine card was fun to make and I actually impressed myself in being creative when making my sun!    Check out the photo below for a visual on how I created it.    I attached punched a circle and attached it the card stock.   Using my triangle punch I punched to make the rays in different varying degrees.

The circles in the background were sponged on.   The sentiment was heat embossed.    The clouds were stamped and cut out.












To make the celebrate love card, the first thing I did was punch out the hearts, applied glaze to the top of the hearts and put them aside to dry.    I took pink ink and sponged it to the background.    The Love was heat embossed with white embossing powder.   The little hearts were stamped to the card.

The best part of this card as well as my other love card was no embellishments!!    I love that when sending the cards there will be no additional postage!!

Never Forget

Here is this week's Viva La Verve sketch of the week.     As soon as I saw the sketch, scrapbook page came to mind!    I love this picture of my niece and nephew.   It was taken last year at a September 11th memorial.    As soon as the picture it brought a tear to my eye.

In 2014, I submitted my card to have a chance at winning the Paper Crafts World Card Making Day contest.      They picked 5 cards to be voted on to have the chance at being an honorable mention.    I was so excited at the end when my family, friends and peers in the crafting community voted and my card was chosen as the winning entry.   I was babysitting my niece when I read the news that my as the 2014 Paper Crafts World Card Making Day Contest Honorable Mention.    Me and my niece danced around to celebrate!   I was saying Yahoo! and she was doing right along with me!   So here she is saying Yahoo!

Sweet dreams

One of my goals is to fit in as much scrapbooking as much as possible this year.   So when I find a card sketch that I can adapt and make a scrapbook page I am all for it.    I took this week's Mojo Monday sketch and made it a Sweet Dreams scrapbook page with my two nephews.   Look how precious the two of them are napping together.   Love these guys and this picture!

The moon was a free form cut out with using circles to cut the shapes out.
