Having a little stamping fun

As crafter's we love to buy new crafty goodies!    I just got a great new stamp set, embossed foil paper and some fabulous washi tape.   I decided to have a little fun and stamp with my new stuff.    I saw this great challenge on Unity Stamps and it was a perfect opportunity to with my new stuff.

I also used a great old Sizzex die that is a Jelly frame.   I kept thinking I wanted to find a picture frame to put my creation in.   Viola, jelly frame Sizzex to the rescue.   Simple, easy.  I have a feeling I may need to pull this old Sizzex die out more often for projects!

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday.   Enjoying the rest of the weekend before the holiday craziness starts.    I am going to prominently place this frame somewhere where I will see it all the time and remind myself.    truly rest. be still. simply breathe.  especially during this upcoming holiday season!

Please Vote For Me!!

Two weeks ago, I let all of you know that I was picked as an honorable mention winner of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine’s 2014 World Card Making Day Contest!     Click here to read the announcement.

Now I need you your vote.     The survey takes a half a second. All you need to do is choose and submit!

There are 5 honorable mention that were chosen.     The winning honorable mention will win a 675$ prize package.   The vote needs to be in by Monday, November 24th at midnight.

My card is the Light Blue Hello There Floral Wreath.

Click here to be taken to the voting link.

Originally the voting was to be done in April, but the voting has been moved up because Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking will not longer be published after the February 2015 issue.

This by far is the saddest news of all.   Paper crafts & Scrapbooking was so much more than just a magazine. It was the go to place to learn new trends and gave paper crafters a place to be recognized and published. I know I have been inspired and learned so much from all the designers. I have grown as a crafter and it is all due to all the designers and this amazing publication. It was the central hub for the paper crafting world and connected all of us.   I am going to miss the magazine so much!

Thank you in advance for everyone who takes a minute to vote from their computer and phones!    You guys are the best!!!

Here are the ingredients to make my winning entry:
Stamp Set:  Flower Patch, Stamp set from a local craft store
Ink:  Basic Black, Summer Starfruit, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizzazz

Every year we get that beautiful catalog, we put post its in the catalog for all our wish items, but we also put post its in the catalog for projects that inspire us.    We always do a good job in getting our wish items, but never quite get around to creating the projects.       There are so many amazing projects why recreate when you can CASE or at least CASE the layout or the colors.

So for now until the year, I am going to try to continue finding projects in the Idea Book and Catalog and draw inspiration from them.    I hope you can join me!

Here is my baby card and the card that inspired me on page 80 of the Idea Book.

Love the Festival of Trees

I have to say I love the Festival of Trees stamp set in the Holiday Mini.    Any stamp set that has a coordinating punch is always a hit in my book!      I love my framelits, but for mass production of holiday cards nothing works better than a punch.   It is fast and it is also easy transported.   Which means you can work on your holiday cards anywhere and there is no big investment like with a Big Shot.   Stamp and punch.

This Festival of Tree card was inspired by this week's My Favorite Things sketch of the week  as well as Moxie Fab World's Tree-mendous Trees Challenge!

This is the third Festival of Trees card that I paired up with the All is Calm Designer Series Paper and I have to say I am loving the Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon and Silver!!

Ingredients to make the card:
Stamp Sets:  Festival of Trees
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz and Lost Lagoon
Paper:   Whisper White, Soft Sky and All is Calm Designer Series Paper

Thanks for Sticking it Out With Me

This week's My Favorite Things sketch inspired me to play with some of the great things I have picked up locally in the last couple of weeks.    So many fun products that when I see them I can't help but pick them up when I see them.   After working years in offices, this sentiment is perfect to give to a co-worker.

Most of the supplies are not Stampin' Up! but the ones that are the ink, card stock and the chevrons from the Circle Thinlits.
