Homemade Happy 30 Wall Hanging

A friend of mine her 30th birthday is this weekend. Since I am on decorating committee, I decided to make a wall hanging with my new Big Shot! Since I don't have the new pennant die cut, I decided to make something with my chipboard coasters. I have to say I am using these things like crazy since I got my big shot. The coasters that my friend Colleen ordered from American Coaster have been sitting collecting dust. Since the Big Shot came to town, I seem to find new things to do with all the time. My favorite thing to do is use the chipboard with my Serif Essentials die cut to make chipboard letters. I apply the designer paper to the chipboard with my glue stick and then I run through with my Big Shot. How great is this, no applying paper to chipboard, then cutting around it, then sanding it. That is all a thing of the past with the Big Shot.

So here is the sign I made with my Serif Essentials, some chipboard coasters and Bella Rose designer series paper. I tied it together with my 5/8" Old Olive wide grosgrain ribbon. I made the holes through the chipboard with my crop-a-dile. Unfortunately, we still do not have number die cuts, so I had to pull out retired On Board Lower chipboard to get the 30 and needed to apply the chipboard the old fashion way. I think I'll be sending an email to Stampin' Up! telling them that we need number Sizzex dies. Then I asked my dad to get me a stick so I can pull the whole thing together. I have to say I like the way this turned out. I may have to make a few more signs!

What a gorgeous wall hanging!! I can't wait to get my coasters either!!! I love the way you have the "banner" from the piece of wood/stick. Very inspiring!
