Mr. Twigster stopping in to say hello

Here is a card made with retired designer paper and an old favorite, Mr. Twigster. I have to say I miss this guy as well as the designer series paper, Frosty day.

Sketch Challenge

Well this week, my friend Kelly posted a sketch challenge for all our fellow demonstrators. I welcome you to join me in the challenge, I have to say it was a lot of fun starting with a sketch this time and just copying. They always say use our catalogs for inspiration, why re-create the wheel, use Stampin' Up!'s ideas and make them your own. So our challenge and yours if you decide to take it is... On Page 9 of the Sale-a-bration brochure there is a birthday card, take the card and make it your own. Here is the card from the Sale-a-bration brochure, it features the Polka Dot Punches stamp set that you can earn for free with a 50$ purchase.

Here is my version of the card I first looked for designer series that s paper that had stripes in it. I found it in the retired Frosty Day designer paper from the Holiday Mini. I put a strip of the Frosty Day on the side of the card. Instead of the 4 circles on the side, I decided to go with a chocolate chip scallop edge followed by a strip of close to cocoa. Next I took a piece of Frosty Day in the Tangerine Tango color and adhered it to the front of the card, next I pulled out retired poly twill chocolate chip ribbon. Next came the circle image, I cut the large circle with my Coluzzle. I then took my Love You Bunch stamp set and with my Stampin' Write Markers, I only colored in the scallop edge from the Hugs&Kisses image. I stamped in the card stock and punched it out our scallop circle. Next came the image from the great Rock Star image from the hostess exclusive A Little Somethin', I punched this image with the large star punch. The finishing touches was the Fire Rhinestone and the paper piercing on the large circle. I did a free hand job of piercing, but I did after I adhered all the images. I used the scallop circle as guide for where to put the paper piercing. I tried to put it equal distance from the scallop edge and the edge of the large circle. Lastly came the PARTY ON, from the Fundamental Phrases stamp set. We had the word party in that set, with the on I masked off from the word congrats from the set. I have to say I like the outcome. 12x12 Scrapbook Page

Here is this week's color challenge in a 12x12 scrapbook page. The color challenge for this week is Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Close to Cocoa. I pulled out some retired designer paper for this challenge. For the hearts, I used the Prints designer series packs and pulled out the pink and rose red. I die cut the hearts with my Sizzlits Heart Set. I adhered a strip of pretty in pink grosgrain ribbon and then attached the hearts. I then tied bows and attached them to the ribbon with mini glue dots. Next came the background, that is another retired designer paper, Frosty Day. Next came the title, I diecut it with Big Shot using the Billboard Alphabet. I attached the letters with my 2-way glue pen onto a Oval Image I cut out with my Coluzzle. I then layered it on top of 2 other oval images I cut out. Next I punched out to Hearts with my Heart to Heart punch. I attached the larger heart to the title with a Stampin' Dimensional. Next came the Eyelet Border followed by a strip of Pretty in Pink. The finishing touch was the two Rose Red buttons. I just love these pictures of niece Julie, she just cracks me up!

Mr Twigster and Frosty Day

I figured with the temperature in the single digits here in NJ, Mr. Twigster and Frosty Day would be appropriate. here I started with Mr. Twigster in a small box I cut out and layered on a scallop square. Then more layers of Frosty Day designer paper and Chocoloate Chip. There is a strip of Chocolate Chip on the side of the card and scallop edge. The finishing touch was the wide chocolate chip grosgrain adhered to the designer series paper and with a bow tied with a mini glue dot as well as two buttons. Only a few more days left to get this wonderful set and paper!!

2 More Fabulous Christmas Cards

Here are two more fabulous Christmas cards from fellow demonstrators that came in the mail in the last couple of days. One comes from my friend Colleen Triglianos made with the Snow Swirled stamp set. Love embossed tree! Then the second card comes from Yvette Martinelli, it is made with the Scandinavian Season. I love the little bling on the star. Beautiful cards!

It's a Wrap

Here are some gift tags I came up with in the search of the one I mass produced for all my Christmas gifts this year. First I started with the Holiday Treasures designer series paper paired up with the Deer Friends stamps. I attached a mini glue dot and put a red pom-pom for the nose. The paper and the Deer Friends was layered on top of punched circles and Coluzzle circles and die cut Sizzex #2. Followed by a strip of read red card stock across the center. I tied a candy candy on top with a piece of wide grosgrain ribbon after punching a hole with my crop-a-dile.

The next one, I decided to do take out the Frosty Day designer series paper. I stamped the snowman image in Chocolate Chip then I pulled out a q-tip and cleaned off the ink on the nose and then with my Stampin' Write marker, I colored in the nose. Same idea was done with this tag, I layered the paper and the image on punched circles, scallop circles, Coluzzle circles and the die cut Sizzex #2. I added a strip of chocolate chip card stock and some bashful blue brads.

The last one was the one I decided to mass produced. I think the 2 sets of large circles did me in on the last two tags. One of them was being done by the Paper Shaper 2 3/4" circle, but the other one I had to pull out my Coluzzle and I have to say I wasn't looking forward to mass cutting out circles with the Coluzzle. Not to mention there was no place for me to write the to and from.

So here is what I came up with. I die cut the with the Scallop #2 , the old olive and then the Bella Rose designer series paper. I cut the Bella Rose in half when I was done. I attached the one half to the old olive scallop and then attached a strip of old olive grosgrain ribbon. As for stamping santa. I stamped him in Old Olive. Then as with the snowman, I pulled out my q-tip, I cleaned off the ink on the hat and then with my Stampin' Write Marker, I colored in the hat with Real Red. Lastly, I colored in Santa's face with Blush Blossom.

I have to say I am almost done wrapping presents. I feel like I am in the home stretch with the major part of the gifts wrapped and the Christmas cards out the door. Now I am hoping to make a few homemade extras for friends.

Sizzex Snowflake Gift Ideas

Here are some gift ideas I've been busy making for the holidays. The first one is a shadow box made with the Sizzex Snowflake #2 and the the Join in the Cheer Decorative Stip Die. I cut both the snowflake and the word Joy with my White Vinyl that is one of raw materials we sell that along side the Big Shot. I then placed both die cuts on the shadow box. I put a half back pearl in the center of the snowflake for a little bling. On the inside I glued some trimmings I found in Michael's. The back of the shadowbox, I put a piece of Holiday Treasures designer series paper.

Next I decorated a Jiffy Pop popcorn container. If you look closely there is a pocket and that is where I will be putting a Blockbuster gift card. I first trace the Jiffy Pop container on a piece of Frosty Day designer series paper. Next I made a die cut with my Snowflake and Big Shot with Kiwi Kiss card stock. I attached the Snowflake to the paper with my 2 way glue pen. Next came Mr. Twigster, I stamped and colored him and punched him out with my 1 3/8" circle punch and attached him with my Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped the word Happy Holidays from the retired Mini Mates stamp set. Everytime I think I can part with this set, I realize how many great greetings are in the set and I always happy when I have an occasion to use the set. Next, I put the white card stock and attached to a piece of chocolate chip card stock. I lined the sides and the bottom of the chocolate card stock with sticky strip to make the pocket to put the gift card. The gift card insert is a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock that I decorated the top with. I made the pull tab by just punching the top half of the large tag punch and putting a vintage brad through the center with strips of Whisper White and Kiwi Kiss. The finishing touch was the wide chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon adhered to the designer series paper as well as knot tied to the handle. Hope these two gift ideas inspire you to make some homemade goodies for your family and friends.

Halloween Scrapping Continues

Here is my Halloween scrapbook page with my niece and my nephew in it. Michael is a little monkey and Julie is a witch. I started with a piece of Really Rust textured card stock. On the sides I put strips of Bravo Burgundy and Chocolate Chip. I really love the color combo in this page. I stamped images Halloween Frights stamp set, cut them out and layered them on a piece of Chocolate Chip. The title I made the chipboard H with some chipboard coasters and some textured Chocolate Chip card stock. The rest of the title I stamped from the Schoolbook Serif stamp set. The finishing touches were the pewter hodgepodge hardware and the wide chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon.

Halloween Scrapping

I am so excited I was able to fit in some scrapbooking time. Here is a little mini album I made for my friend. She sent me all these great pictures and I thought I should make her a little brag book to carry around of her two little ones.

First applied Old Olive card stock to a piece of chipboard with my glue stick on the top and the bottom. Glue sticks work best with applying paper to chipboard. After that I ran the chipboard and card stock through my Big Shot with the Scallop #2 Sizzex die. The best part of putting the card stock on before hand, no need to cut and sand. You have a beautiful finish to your chipboard Sizzex die. I repeated the steps again for the bottom of my mini album. For the inside pieces I cut just plain scallop circles with the Big Shot. For the ones inside, you can cut the pictures out with your Coluzzle cutting system and attach them to the inside.

The front cover. I stamped the bats from the Batty for you stamp set, I cut them out and attached them with dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the Halloween frights stamp set. To make it easier trimming the words, I punched them out with my word window punch and then cut out the words I needed. I then stamped the stars & swirls from the set. I used my Stampin' Write markers to color them in, so it stamped the two colors. Then I added a black button. To get the two shape circles. For the white circle, I punched it out with my mega punch that I got from AC Moore. It is a 2 3/8" punch. I have to say I love this punch. Then the eggplant envy layer, I cut out with the Coluzzle.

Next, I used my crop-a-dile to punch holes through the card stock and the chipboard covers. I then put on the key ring that I got in Staples. I tied a piece of Old Olive wide grosgrain.

Thinking of coming to my class tonight, we'll you can make this instead of the pumpkin version of this mini album. There is still room open for tonight's class. If not RSVP for the 17th and you can make this mini album then.

Halloween Homemade Treats

How adorable are these homemade Halloween treats from my friends Tracy and Colleen!!! Here is the great Werewolf made from punches and our Big Shot Top Note. She attached a pack of M&M's on the back. Click here to see more Big Shot Frankenstein, Dracula and the Mummy made by Tracy on her blog.

Then I got this great Hot Cocoa mix with Halloween marshmellows! She stamped the retired Booglie Eyes in Staz-On on the plastic cone. What a great gift to give for Halloween.

The last one is from Colleen. She made this fabulous candy holder with our Eat Drink and Be Scary stamp set and the Ghostly Greetings designer series paper. Ready for Halloween?

Are you ready for Halloween? I spent the day with my stamping buddies, Colleen and Tracy yesterday so I have a few projects to share with you. Here are two tags I made for Halloween goodies. One is to put on top of Halloween presents I am giving my niece and nephew. I started with the Scallop #2 die for this project. I cut it out with my Big Shot and then took my Coluzzle for the circle inside. I stamped the hat from the Eat, Drink & Be Scary stamp set in Elegant Eggplant. I cut it out and then put a strip of black grosgrain ribbon on the hat. I then tied a knot and attached it with a mini glue dot. I then stamped the pumpkin from the set and cut it out. Both of the images were attached with Stampin' Dimensionals to the tag. I stamped the greetings from the Halloween Frights stamp set from the Holiday Mini as well. Lastly, three black brads finish the tag off.

The next tag uses similar products. This tag I am going to put on a bottle of wine that I am bringing to my sister's tonight. I got the inspiration when I was in Target when I saw a wine bottle bag that said the same thing, witch's brew. I was like I can do that. This time I used the larger scallop circle with two coluzzle circles for the center. I stamped the words with the ABC Alphabet lower. I have to say I really like this alphabet. I love the clean crisp words. The hat is now in pumpkin pie. I stamped the spider from the Eat, Drink & Be Scary stamp set. A black button finishes the tag off. Now all I need to do is punch a hole with my crop-a-dile and tie it to a bottle of wine.

Big Shot Snowflake and Mr. Twigster

Here is Mr. Twigster again paired up with the Big Shot Snowflake Die. I put Mr. Twigster in the middle of the die cut snowflake with Stampin' Dimensionals after I punched him out with my 1 3/8" circle punch. On the side there is a strip of Frosty Day designer series paper, a strip of confetti white and 2 black brads. The greeting comes from the Sweet Serendipity stamp set.

More Mr. Twigster Holiday Cards

Here are a few more cards made with Mr. Twigster, it's a safe bet that he has become a favorite of mine. In fact, he did make it as holiday card for me for the season. Here are some cards I came up with on my way to making this year's card.

The first card I used my Sizzex Top Note which I stamped Mr. Twigster. I colored him with my blender pens and my ink refills. The greeting comes from my Warm Words stamp set which you can still purchase since it is on the dormant list. Then came a piece of our Frosty Day paper laid on top of a piece of Kiwi Kiss card stock. The finishing touch was the chocolate grosgrain ribbon and corner rounding the 2 sides of the card.

The next card uses some of the same things except this time, Mr. Twigster shows up inside the 1 3/4" circle punch. I also stamped the trees in Kiwi Kiss as a background. Then the scallop edge punch and a strip of Chocolate Chip on the top finish this card off.

This time Mr. Twigster was placed on top of a piece of Baja Breeze and framed in two strips of Chocolate Chip card stock. I stamped the greeting from the Sweet Serendipity stamp set and punched it out with our 1 1/4" circle punch.

The last card, I got a little circle punch happy. I stamped the images and greeting and then punched them out with our circle punches along with the Frosty Day paper. The greeting I highlighted by layering on the coordinating circle and tieing a piece of Kiwi Kiss Taffeta ribbon. The background, I stamped snowflakes from the Short & Sweet stamp set. On the bottom, I adhered a strip of Chocolate Chip card stock.

Sneak peak into the Holiday Mini

Here is a sample made from Mr. Twigster and our new Frosty Day paper from the Holiday Mini that will be out on October 1st. I colorered in our Mr. Frosty with our blender pens and my ink refills. The finishing touch was adhering the wide chocolate grosgrain ribbon and then tieing a knot and attaching it with a mini glue dot. The greeting comes from our warm wishes stamp set. Can you believe this stamp set is only $13.95! What a cute set to make some cards and send some winter wishes!
