More Daniel Party Decorations

My Daniel Tiger decorations continue today.    Today I made another banner and I made a clothesline to pin up photos of the little guy.    The banner is very similar to yesterday's banner with the exception of the square pennants.

The bigger challenge was the finding a way to display the photos.   It started first with a vitamin bottles that were being discarded.   I thought just putting a wood dowel in the center would be enough to display the pictures.   Well I was proven wrong.   There was not enough height so the photos could drape.    You also couldn't spread the two points to far apart or the anchors would fall over.  

So I will start with the vitamin bottles.   I covered them with zebra paper I found in a local craft store.  I couldn't find tiger stripes, so I colored in the white parts of the designer paper with my blendabilites!!!  I love how they came out.    Then I punched a hole in the top of the bottles with my crop-a-dile and put the wood dowel through the center.   I put some hot glue where the dowel goes through the center to ensure it would not come out.   I tied ribbon to hide the bottles top.    I filled the bottle with rice.    Then I sealed the bottle with hot glue so it would not open up.

Next came the bottom, I had these heavy duty cardboard paper rolls I got from a company I used to work at.    Not sure where you can find anything like this.    My goal was height, so if I didn't find these I was going to find card board boxes and decorate them.     So the roll were covered with black cardstock.   I attached it with sticky strip to keep it in place.     Next came the rosettes.    I scored two pieces of cardstock at one inch and attached the two pieces with my hot glue gun to make sure they stayed in place.     Next came Daniel Tiger.   I printed it out and cut it out with my circle framelits.   Daniel was glued to the project with hot glue.    Then I attached the rosette with the glue gun as well.

The two anchors were tied together with White & Tangerine Tango Two-Tone Trim.   I tied them on top and I also pulled out my hot glue gun and applied the glue to make sure they do not come undone.

Daniel Tiger Party Decorations

This weekend we celebrated my nephew's 1st birthday.   He loves his Daniel Tiger.   We started out with the red and white as theme with the invitaion, but when it came time looking for party decorations, we slowly found it was easier to find orange items then red.

The first orange item was the buckets for the centerpieces.   They are not only centerpieces but they are going be filled with yummy chips to put on everyone's table and we are going to tie balloons to the handles.

Let's just say it is not easy finding tiger striped items.   The only thing that came close was the orange and white tiger striped ribbon.   So when I found in a local craft store, I bought up a few rolls!

So today's Daniel Tiger decorations I will be showcasing are the bucket centerpieces, the cupcake toppers and high chair banner.  Images and Sentiments were printed on the computer and resized for the projects.

The ingredients to make all three projects are as follows:
Paper:  Whisper White, Tangelo Twist, Tangelo Twist Patterns Designer Series Paper

Tips to do do the centerpieces:
To attach the ribbon to the bucket, use sticky strip.   To keep the bow and image in place, pull out your hot glue gun.  This will make sure that your items don't fall off halfway through the party.

Tips for the cupcake toppers:
Punch out your image and then punch out a circle to layer underneath.   To ensure that your cupcake toppers don't fall off, use your hot glue gun to keep the image in place.    I have used my adhesive in the past, but because of the wood stick in between I found the toppers would come apart.

Tips for your high chair banner:
To make the triangle.   Cut a rectangle of the size of the banner you would like to create.   Next find the center of the card stock from left to right.    Then with your paper cutter align the card stock so you cut your paper in a diagnolly. Taking the top corner and then center of the cardstock.   Then repeat with the other corner.

After cutting all three pennants, bring them over to the high chair then you align  the triangles so they fit perfectly accross the front.  Give yourself a decent amount of ribbon to start off so you can tie to the back of the high chair if you have a place you can tie it to.   Then across the top of the banner apply sticky strip and then apply the ribbon to the sticky strip.   Again leave ribbon at the end so you can tie it the high chair.
When you are done with the front, leave apply a second strip of sticky tape to the back and then add another layer of ribbon.  This will secure the banner from the back.

Daniel Tiger Invitation

Today is my nephew's 1st birthday!   I can't believe how fast time has flown.  He is the happiest little boy.   He is just starting to walk. He loves his Daniel Tiger!

The birthday party information was printed on the tag which is tucked nicely inside the pocket.   The pocket is a piece of cardstock folded over.   To keep the pocket in place I punched two holes on the side with a crop-a-dile then thread through baker's twine and tied a bow.

Paris Themed Invitations

I got a special custom order to make Paris themed party invitations.    So since I didn't have any Eiffel tower stamp sets, I decided to google and find some clipart to add to my invite.    So the center of the invite was printed and then cut out with my Coluzzle cutting system.

Homemade Christening Invitation

Here are the invitations I made for my niece's christening.  I was completely inspired by the kraft and dolie look by all the great projects on out Pinterest.   So simple a gatefold with a dolie on top.    I put a glue dot on one side and velcro on the otherside.    I also dyed the rosette with my perfect plum ink refill.   So easy to dye flowers.   I was so happy with the results.   Do you have an upcoming occasion that you need invitations, please feel contact me and I can create your one of a kind homemade invitation!

Spidey Birthday

Now that Valentine's Day is over. I can finally share some projects I made for my nephew's birthday. He is a HUGE Spiderman fan. Homemade Birthday Party Invitation

Here is a birthday invitation that I made for my friend Colleen. She loves her purple, so that was a given to the design. I just wasn't sure if she wanted to see the Cottage Wall designer series paper. She spent the good part of 2009 making things for her sister's baby shower and scrapbook using that designer series paper, but she said it was okay. She said it would be good seeing it used for another occasion.

Another Wedding Day Projects Post

Here are a few more wedding day projects I made. First is the wedding programs for the church. I think there were about 100 when we were all said and done. I printed the writing on the front of the program. Next I punched the eyelet border. Next came the swirl stamped from the Wedding Sweet stamp set. I embellished it with leaves punched from a leaf punch I got at the craft store and gold brads. The programs were done in 3 different color schemes: Bravo Burgundy, Riding Hood Red and Dusty Durango. The Riding Hood Red program, I punched Bella Rose Designer Series paper. In the Dusty Durango program Juntos designer series paper was punched to make the leaves. The finishing touches were the gold cord tied on top and the strips of card stock.

The next two projects were a joint effort in creativity and preparation by the bride. She designed the wine labels and the menus. We scanned the leaf from the wedding invitation.

Wedding Day Projects

Here is just a few wedding projects I made for my sister and brother in-law. The wedding was this past Sunday and it was a beautiful day all around. She had a beautiful fall theme. It was so nice to create bridal projects with leaves versus the usual flowers. I loved being able to create in those beautiful fall colors. So here is the table where everyone were able to pick up their table setting cards. I have to say I love the way the overall table came out. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get a picture of the table before all the table settings cards went away, but I still think this photo captures the beauty of the table.

Here are the individual projects on the table. Unfortunatly I had to go to a local craft store to pick up some designer paper and accessories for the projects. Past and present SU paper just didn't do the justice for the color scheme I was looking for.

So the first project was the 130 table setting cards. I tried to make it as easy as possible and tried to assemble as much of the project ahead of time, so when we finally got the tables together all I needed to do was print, punch and adhere.

The SU products used in the project were the Big Shot, Leaves #2 Sizzex and the Large Oval Punch.

Next came the Wedding Wishes Vase. Here is the tag I made to tie around the top of the vase.

The SU products to make this was: Big Shot, Leaves #2 Sizzex, Clear Circle Sizzex.

Next came the card to write your wishes on.

My last project was the photo frame. I have to say I love the way this came out.

Wedding Shower Poem

To start the shower off, I did a little speech for the bride. It's no ordinary speech, it was filled with household products as we go to each one, we pulled out one of the products. So all the things in capital letters were household products we pulled out and gave to her. I did this about 8 years ago for my sister-in-law's shower and it's amazing how many things were no longer on the market. I had to go find subsititues. No YES and thank God there is no more RAVE. I think we killed the ozone with that one! There is a few others that needed to be substitued, but thank God I found new ones in the supermarket that day. So I decided to make the poem/speech as a keepsake for her. I started with On Board Basics Large that I covered with some Bella Rose. I printed the poem and punched a eyelet border on the side and adhered it to a piece of Riding Hood Red card stock. Then I diecut two flowers with the Bella Rose and put a corduroy button in the center. I also added two others on the bottom for accents. On the side of the chipboard came a strip of Bella Rose and wide chocolate chip grosgrain. To make sure it was a wall hanging, I punched two holes with my crop-a-dile and and pulled the ribbon through to make loop and tied a knot.

Here's the wedding poem: You are about to start a new ERA of your life. Who knew that when Tomek put that FANTASTIK DIAMOND on your finger and you said TOTALLY say yes that you would find so much JOY in your LIFE. Make sure you collect all your LUCKY CHARMS and break a WISHBONE so there will be SUNSHINE on the day you PLEDGE yourselves to each other. We hope that you always call each other HONEY and SUGAR and may the SPARKLE never leave your RED HOT love. Hope there are many KISSES and HUGGIES along with many SNUGGLES, but don't let Tomek get to bold until you are SURE. Remember we'll ALWAYS be there for you, to listen to your SECRETs and when you rave ALL about Tomek. When you send out a S.O.S., just DIAL the phone and we will be GLAD to help because we are your LIFESAVERS. But if all fails and you want to remain CAREFREE, just STAYFREE and be SOLO.

Candy Cups

Well if you have been following along it's been a week of posting projects from my sister's bridal shower. The place they meet was a club called Bliss, so what better chocolates to put on the table than Bliss! So here are some candy cups I made. I searched in Michaels trying to find he perfect container to decorate to put the chocolates in only to find on in my office cafeteria. These are the soup containers! I just used my Circle Cutting System and cut out a circle of Bella Rose designer series paper to cover up the images on the soup cups. Then I pulled out the Flower Layers with Leaf and my Big Shot to make the flower and the 1 3/4" circle punch to put in the center. the last piece as a strip of Bella Rose that I adhered a white organza ribbon. The best part the cup was so full of chocolates that I didn't need to adhere the handle all I needed to do was slip in and it stayed in place.

Candy Bar Wrappers

Next came Bella Rose Designer Series Candy Bar Wrappers. How cute are these! Just wrap your designer series paper around a Hershey Bar. Die cut your flower and leaf with the Sizzex Flower Layers with Leaf with your Big Shot. Print out the Tag and punch it out to with the 1 3/4" circle punch. I attached the flowers and the flower center with Dimensionals to give the candy bar a little something extra.

Bridal Shower Favor

Next came the favors. I had these simple candle holders. I decided to dress them up with Fall leaf foliage. I got really lucky I found these leaf trimmings during the Christmas Holiday season which matched the gold trim on the candle holders beautifully. The best part is that they fit into the leaf theme. I have to say I learned a great trick from my friend Sue when doing these favors. We used gold wire to tie the leaves on, no need for a hot glue gun. Just cut, wrap and you are done. We finished 72 of these favors in TWO hours. I was shocked and amazed they were done so quickly. The tag I punched gold metallic card stock with the Oval Scallop punch followed with the large oval punch. I punched a small hole and threaded through retired gold cord from the holiday mini last season. Stayed tuned for tomorrow for more bridal shower projects...

Bridal Shower Invitation

Well I am finally able to post some projects that I have been working on for the last couple of months. We just had my sister's bridal shower this past weekend so here is the invitation I made. I love the way it came out. The theme of her wedding is Fall, so I was happy to be able to incorporate leaves into her shower invitation. I was thrilled to be able to the find the right color gold when I printed the invitation out. The hardest part of the invitation was the scoring the copier paper. The paper was super thin and I was afraid I would rip it when I scored it. I stamped the leaf from the retired stamp set, With Graditude in gold ink. I heat embossed the leaf. I made a eyelet border with the Gold metallic paper. I made two holes with my crop-a-dile. The finishing touch was the Whisper White Organza Ribbon bow.
